EVENT:   MORWELL Region - Schools Gala Day

PURPOSE:  Provide all children with an extra Positive Start experience which focusses on FUN, Non-Competitive and full participation soccer matches with their friends!

DATE:   Friday 2nd December 2022         

VENUE: Gippsland Sports and Entertainment Park, Morwell

SCHOOL-TYPE:   Primary Schools, Secondary Schools and Special Schools  

SPECIALIST SCHOOL PARTICIPATION: On this day we are encouraging the participation of Specialist Schools in the region. We will have a separate area set up and allocated for Specialist School Participation in either fixtures or a clinic run by Football Victoria Coaches. We encourage Specialist Schools to arrive by 10:30am with activities completed by 1:30pm.

TIMES:  Matches will kick off no earlier than 9:30am and conclude by 2:10pm | Special Schools will kick off no earlier than 10:30am and conclude no later than 1:30pm | Schools are asked to arrive by 9am on the day of Gala and will be ready to depart by 2:30pm

FORMAT:    7-a-side (max 10players per team) | Teams will play at least 3 matches within their division | Divisions will be broken up into Boys, Girls & Mixed within Year Levels: 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 and 8 | Each match will run for 40 min and teams will have a break between their next matches | All Teams should wear their School Sports Uniforms to participate and boots are not permitted to be worn.

TEAM ENTRIES/FIXTURES:  Registrations close on Friday 18th November 2022 | Fixtures with pitch allocations will be sent out to all school teams 1 week prior to the event | Nominated school match facilitators should check-in at the Football Victoria desk on the day.

OTHER DETAILS:   At specific venues there will be a CANTEEN open on the day for purchases of food and drinks | Children should bring a Water Bottle & snacks, appropriate clothes depending on the weather | Any updates regarding the specific event will be communicated to the entered schools.
